Samie in Sports

This past Spring, Samie took up girls softball. She took to this sport quite well. In Spring she played for the Thundercats (royal blue) and currently she is playing for the Red Hots (red). She enjoys playing and hanging out with all the girls during the games. She played/playing first base.

While on the Thundercats team, her coach entered them into "Field of Dreams". This is put on by The Bees. Over 200 teams applied for this and their team was selected. What did that mean for Samie's team? Well they got tickets for a Bees game and were announced at the start of the game. No too bad huh, but there is more. The girls were asked to actually go out onto the field and stand in their positions. Their names were announced and then, The Bees players came out and took their positions. Matt Brown was playing first base for The Bees.

The girls were allowed to go into team room and look around all of Franklin Covey Field. All the girls had a wonderful time and will not soon forget it.

Samie is currently playing on the Red Hots. It if fall ball, so it doesn't last as long. This past weekend, Samie had her first double header. She hit a single, triple and TWO home runs! Talk about being proud parents. Samie says she will keep playing softball as long as it is fun!
